How did DizziBrands get started?

After years of owning restaurants in Texas…through the blending of Molecular Gastronomy and Mixology, one of the founders of DizziBrands locked in the recipes after years of research and testing thousands of batches.  (Tough job…having to eat ice cream every day and not get fat)  Now he and his business partners decided to launch the product full time and have never looked back!

 

How did DizziBrands get the Alcohol to freeze?

While there are certain life mysteries that are still lurking (like how did they build the Pyramids or Stonehenge, Time Travel, Who killed Jimmy Hoffa, Did we really land on the moon, Is Donald Trump’s Hair real or fake)…the secret to our ice cream is definitely on that list considering we do not use any chemicals or scientific freezing tricks like Nitrogen or Dry Ice. 

 

Where can I buy DizziBrands’ products?

Right now we are only in our physical locations, but we can be found at certain restaurants and bars that are listed in the Locations page on the site.

 

Do you have dairy-free flavors?

Yes! We have made a vegan flavor just for our dairy free lovers.  Pina Colada is a great way to enjoy Dizzi without the lactose.

 

Why are flavors different from location to location?

We always aim to please. DizziBrands stores, however, are independently owned and operated, so liquors, ingredients, storage, and policies may vary from store to store. Most DizziBrands stores can have your special order ready within 48 hours. Stores will require a deposit when the order is placed.

 

Do you deliver DizziBrands’ products?

Yes!  We deliver to several locations in St Thomas currently.  We drop off to the Ritz, Margaritaville, LimeTree, Downtown, Emerald Beach, and Hull Bay between the hours of 5pm – 7pm M-Sat.  Please see the schedule on the locations page.  You can order as little as $50 in our products and we will deliver for free.

These goods are frozen when they leave the store and during transport.  You must be available with a 20 minute window to pick up your products to ensure the quality.  This is why we must have pre-paid orders for delivery to give you the highest quality and make you the happy customers that we know will come back again and again.

 

How is my ice cream order packed?

Orders above our delivery minimum order value of $50 are packed in a reusable cooler bag. Customers are entitled to one cooler bag per order. Additional bags are available for purchase upon request.

We encourage you to reuse this bag for your grocery shopping & errands - together we can minimize the use of disposable plastics.

 

Does my order come with dry ice?

Resort/Office delivery: Most orders are delivered by truck with a freezer inside, so there is no need for dry ice. Once you receive your order, please store it in a freezer (below -18C or 0F) until you're ready to enjoy it.

Pick up orders: Pick up orders are packed with super cold ice sheets to last 30-60 minutes (depending on the outside temperature) to allow you to transport your items to your next location.

Please be careful when handling the ice sheets, try not touch it with bare hands in case of frozen burns.

 

What's your return policy?

We deliver our products in temperature controlled trucks, so you can be assured that you'll receive your order in tip top condition, ready to be enjoyed immediately or stored in your freezer. 

Please note that given the perishable nature of ice cream products, all sales are final. We encourage all customers to take due care to inspect the completeness and quality of their order at the time of delivery. Once you (or a third party representing you) have received and signed for your delivery, we are unable to exchange, refund or otherwise amend your order.

All orders made are final and cannot be amended after checkout is completed.

If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase from DizziBrands, you may contact us at the store you bought it to discuss.

FRANCHISING

Do you franchise? Can I open a DizziBrands of my own?

Yes, we do offer franchising. We own and operate our own lickable liquor and Liq Me Lounges, but we are looking for great people to help us expand across the Caribbean and Continental United States.  For information on how to learn more about getting your own business in this amazing and growing sector, please contact us and we will get back with you as soon as possible.

Is it possible to tour a DizziBrands store or facility?

Policies and participation may vary between locations. A tour of the St Thomas Downtown DizziBrands Store can be arranged for potential Franchise Applicants. Public tours of our production facilities are not available for sanitary and quality reasons.

 

How do i request donations and sponsorships?

Please contact your local store for all donation and sponsorship requests.

 

How long is a DizziBrands ice cream good for in my freezer?

DizziBrands ice cream are made fresh every day. We use the highest quality ice cream, but the quality is also dependent on the design of your home freezer. Over time, ice crystals form in ice cream which diminish the smooth texture and rich flavors. While ice crystals are not harmful, we recommend you enjoy your DizziBrands products within 7 days of purchase to ensure you get that you get the best experience.

ANIMAL PRODUCTS

The only animal products are milk and eggs. The mono and diglycerides are derived from soy, not from an animal source.

 

GLUTEN

Most of our ice creams are gluten-free. However, the waffle cones and some syrups cakes and pies that are found in our stores are not gluten-free.

 

MILK PRODUCTS

Milk found in all our ice cream except the vegan options and are pasteurized and is not frozen until the ice cream is made in the store.

 

NUTS

Our stores are not nut free. We use nuts in several recipes and cross contamination is a possibility.

 

SOY

Soy is found in many of our products in the form of soybean oil, soy lecithin, and mono & diglycerides.

 

ALCOHOL IN PRODUCTS

All of the flavors of our ice cream products contain alcohol. Come to think of it…almost every item in our store contains Alcohol.  Alcohol is a common carrier for flavors, and in the finished product, there is a high level. The processing of our ice cream causes almost none of the alcohol to dissipate.

 

CORN SYRUP

There is corn syrup in some of our products but it is not high fructose.

 

GUAR GUM

Guar gum is derived from a bean. It has the same qualities as corn starch, but about 10 times as powerful.

 

GREEN TEA

Green tea is made from unoxidized leaves and is one of the least processed types of tea. For this reason, studies suggest that consuming green tea may positively affect skin health, help with weight loss, and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

 

SUGARS IN DIZZILITE

The sweeteners used in DizziLite/Low Fat ice creams are Stevia and Aspartame.

 

EGGS

Almost all of our ice creams contain eggs, the sorbet and no sugar added products do not contain eggs but we cannot guarantee that these are 100% egg free as they can come into contact with other ingredients that contain eggs.

 

MONO AND DIGLYCERIDES

Mono and diglycerides are fats (oils) made from plant sources (soybean, cottonseed, sunflower or palm oil). The mono and diglycerides found in our ice cream are refined, bleached and deodorized soybean oil (RBD Soybean Oil).

 

SUGAR FREE

We do not have a sugar free product. We do have a Stevia Sugar that comes naturally from the Stevia Plant. However, it is NOT sugar free, it has natural sugars in it.
